Vedanta and TCE has been Post Poned..

Hello Friends,

Vedanta (earlier planned on 23rd June 08) and Tata Consultancy Engg (earlier planned on 26th June 08) have been postponed/delayed till further notice..

So next company according to current schedule is planned on 30th June and it being Linde! :)

Criteria is yet not recd and will be declared asap as soon as I get it!

Hello Everyone.. General for everyone placed/looking to get placed in core companies

Hey Everybody..

Well, you all know that core companies are coming in full strength now and a lot of you all are looking to bag a seat in them.. But let me tell you, it is very difficult to get in and still difficult to retain yourself in a company..

What I want you all to do is to tell me what you all think are the hot and burning topics in Chemical Engineering that we all need to revise and strengthen so that maximum of our batchmates can get placements in companies and post joining, they can easily cope with the task seriously..

For this, please feel free to consult faculties, seniors placed in companies or any other links you have with industries.. I want to know what are the key topics in Chemical Engineering..

Then, we can arrange some workshops and interactive lectures on these topics so that we can brush up your knowledge.. Friends, college time is coming to an end and we all need to prepare for the corporate sector where we have to prove ourselves in the cut-throat competition.. Its not easy to survive out there, but I want each 1 of you to prove that we are BEST!

Please read this.. General for everyone placed in software companies..

Hello Everyone..

Its been a long time since I communicated with you all.. So, HI! Well, I am writing this post to make some general statements and some too make you aware of.. Please make sure you read all this and go thru all of them..

Yesterday, Sachin Sir took a meeting of all placed in Satyam as Satyam has given a courseware and a project for everyone to prepare before joining.. It is important because before/training period, everyone is expected to have a certain mininmum knowledge so that the company has deserving students.. If not found upto the level, the company will simply cancel your job before/after the training saying you do not meet the criteria, and believe me, they are the employer and they have the authority..
So?? What do we do??
Well, there is nothing to worry about, you just need to prepare and make sure that you are well versed with some comp fundamentals about programming and all.. Although not too hard, they are not too easy also.. But since you have 1 year, I am sure you all can do it..

Well, to prepare you all for the same, I am planning to arrange some sessions with some expert who can teach you all this properly with some material.. This sessions can be conducted in this sem or next sem as per convenience and need.. So, I want you all placed in software to tell who all are interested in such a programme.. If you dont plan to join or do the course required from outside or whatever, I want all placed in Software to come and discuss with me..

This is to ensure your career future, and if anyone wants to just discuss the issue in General, please feel free to talk to me.. But please dont panic, we have 1 yr to prepare, and trust me that is more than enough.. I will make sure all interested to join get the sufficient knowledge.. I will personally conduct some mock tests/interviews later to ensure you have the sufficient knowledge.. So please let me about your decision..

Vedanta is Coming on 23rd June '08

Hello Everyone,

Vedanta is coming on 23rd in our college for campus placements.. Please note the brief eligibility criteria:

1.> As on 1sept'08 the age should not be more than 24 years..
2.> 6.5 PPI without any IF's or backlog..
3.> No break before 12th
4.> Max 1 year break after 12th
5.> Engineering term should be of 4 years. (So d2d who joined after 1yr not allowed)

Will correct the details if needed asap! Please prepare well.. All the best!

Expect TCL and LINDE

Please make a note, we may soon have Tata Consultancy Engineering Limited and Linde in the next two weeks for our campus placements.. All non placed please work hard and I would like to request all placed to work harder to make non placed study and prepare well in every possible manner.

Criteria for TCL:
1. 60% in 10th and 12th/Diploma
2. Only 1 IF maximum in entire history
3. 6.3 PPI min subject to that at end of Nirma 4yrs, PPI >= 6.5

IOCL - Chem Bags 3 seats :)

Hey People,

We have some great news.. Today (6th June 08) IOCL took its interviews in Nirma (IOCL is taking on campus admissions in only 18 colleges in India.. We are proud it came in Nirma..) and selected 6 people.. (3 Chemical, 2 Electrical and 1 Civil.. :) Chem Rocks.. :))
